About
Austrey walking group is a small friendly group that welcomes walkers of all ages. We are part of the Walking for Health / North Walks Project sponsored by North Wawickshire Borough Council. We meet at 10:00 every Friday Morning (usually in the car park of Austrey Baptist Chapel but see below) and walk for about 2 hours covering between 2 and 4 miles. When we can, we also offer those who want to the option of extending the route. Most of our walks take place around the picturesque village of Austrey using local lanes and footpaths. There is no charge to take part in our walks, however, we often use the local bus to transport the group to the start of some walks. So, bring a small amount of money or a Bus Pass with you.

In the winter, when conditions can be rather muddy in the fields around the village, we vary our meeting point so as to use local parks, forests and canals that offer dry, man-made paths.
We publish a monthly walking programme that details the meeting point for each week, see the programme page for the latest information.
