Here is the plot for August walks:

 

• 7 Aug Barton under Needwood meet at  civic car park next to Village Hall at 10:00 about 4.2ml,  parkland, paths tiny stretch of road. Requested as an anniversary walk  hence 2025 Aug title.

• 14 Aug  Austrey-  Baptist Chapel,  -  Salt St via Windmill Hill and on to Newton -if the dry weather holds we may be able to do the near impossible and battle our way through the pools. If it rains I have a route in hand.

• 21 Aug Orton on the Hill.  The Jamboree -  A new twist don't think we have done this route before -  park in the Unicorn car park at 10:00 hopefully back for lunch  by 12ish.

• 28 Aug  Mercia Park  (J11) car park 4 -  again new ground, I have recced the revised route avoiding the A444 and all is now safe ( I had intended to go on to Stretton En Le Field but that would be mass suicide as the path ends on the apex of a blind bend on the A444.  I found this out after I had parked my car in Stretton and nearly became a traffic statistic, I haven't run so fast in years!) - pity because i had found a new network of paths on the far side.

• 4 Sep  Re-run of  July's Grace Dieu walk, meet at the Bulls Head Pub, LE67 8LR  can't miss it, just follow the A512  from the Ashby/A42 roundabout  the Pub is horrid brown lump in front of you on a LH bend, the free car park is clearly marked alongside the PUB.

PS does anybody use the Walking Website? it's getting very clunky and takes as long to update it as it does to research and post this.  They want money to extend the contract I'm happy just to let it die - Any views?
